More good times making wood blocks. These were for one of Magdelana's friends, Taylor, who recently turned five. I'd love to hear if you have a favourite automobile below!

Ooh I do I do! The cute little one in the middle that looks like it's heading to the beach! Shocker, I know.
ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated note, wow. I really really love these.
Hey, that's my favourite too! Thanks for the comment, Cali :)
DeleteI showed these to Nathanael and asked, "Which one is your favorite?" At first he said the vehicles, but he then specified the red truck. I think the city is really cool! It reminds me of Rivers, Roads & Rails, but far more awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat media did you use? Do you find the wood blocks somewhere, or do you make them? I would love to try putting letters on different blocks in various scripts, or maybe even small quotations in calligraphy.

Thanks Wendy! Appreciate the feedback.
ReplyDeleteI added a few links to some other posts that include the materials and process I used. It's very simple - cut and sanded 1x3 pine, painted with Elmer's Non-Toxic Paint Markers, and covered with beeswax. I have a simple walkthrough list under the 'Block Party 01' link.
Thanks again and make sure to post any future creations you and Nathanael come up with!
I've pondered this for a while and I think I have come to the consensus that the green jeep is my favorite. Love it.
