A Tattle Taler and Night of the Long Knives

The sounds of conflict floated from down the hall. Something having to do with World War II and fighting. I thought: cool, they're having a lively discussion about 20th century history.

My son came racing down, almost in tears, breathing hard. "Daddy! Sissy says that Nazis are NOT BAD! And they ARE bad."

"You are very correct," I said, and picked him up with hug as we walked down to chat with his sister about the rise of fascism in Europe following the economic annihilation of Germany in the 1920s.

I don't like Nazis, he said with fervor and furrowed brow.

Me neither, Kid. Me neither.
